Record Number of Active Private Debt Managers
A record of 1,947 private debt firms are currently active. With record figures in both firms and funds, the market is becoming increasingly crowded. The number of fund managers in Europe is increasing, although the largest proportion are still based in North America (1,007). Europe-based fund managers rose from 443 in 2019 to 504 in 2020. On the other hand, Asia seems not be having a significant increase of private debt fund managers, compared to last year, the number of firms has increased 7%.
