Based on PitchBook’s preliminary analysis, 2024 was a rebound for global PE activity. Total deal count for the year rose past an estimated 19,000 completed transactions while aggregate deal value hit $1.75 trillion, the third-highest year on record. Dealmakers may be waxing somewhat more sanguine, but no shortage of hurdles still exist, which suggests that it is more an adaptation to current market conditions that has enabled fund managers to stay so active.
