Private Debt Intelligence – 3/27/2023
Private debt fairly valued according to investors
Institutional investors believe private debt to be fairly valued, according to the latest survey for the Preqin Investor Outlook. In November 2022, 74% of respondents to the survey believed private debt was undervalued or fairly valued. Last week in the Lead Left, Preqin reported that investors’ plans to increase their private debt allocations hit a seven-year high with 63% of respondents saying they planned to increase their allocation to the asset class. Despite this, Preqin’s survey showed that interest rates are of concern to return generation for investors, and higher interest rates may make issuing private debt less appealing to borrowers.
