Private debt dry powder balanced with AUM
Private debt dry powder continues to rise in line with the growth of assets under management (AUM) over 2022, although the ratio of dry powder to AUM fell slightly in the first half of 2022. As of June 2022, dry powder at managers based in Europe, North America and Asia stood at $360bn, compared to unrealised value of $919.4bn or 28%. This in contrast to 2020 and 2021, when it stood at 35% and 32% respectively. Whilst there has been a decrease in dry powder to AUM, it is not substantial and there remains a balance between available capital and opportunity.
