Despite volatility and inflationary pressures, PE remains bullish on the IT sector. That’s according to our latest analyst note, pointing out that PE activity in Q1 2022 outdid itself compared to Q4 2021, which was a blockbuster quarter for the asset class. Part of that resilience was due to a shift in focus, with investors pivoting toward attractive secular growth prospects while valuations get adjusted. Many investors are welcoming the correction. The sector’s slide presents an opportunity to invest at reasonable valuations in an industry known for its ambitious markups. As a result, one likely theme going forward will be pricing disagreements between buyers and sellers.
