A flurry of new leveraged loans hit the market post elections and in run up to year end

After a brief pullback in the institutional calendar in the week leading up to the US election, lenders have tapped the market with a flurry of deals. The institutional calendar tumbled to less than US$10bn in the first week of November, down from over US$39bn at the end of October, before surging to nearly US$29bn in the week following the election. Almost two weeks into November an additional US$12.4bn in loan volume has been completed. New loan volume represented about one third of the total.
