Family offices, which make up over a third of the private wealth entities, are showing a clear appetite for private debt strategies. In Preqin’s latest investor survey, 50% of family office investors said they expect to invest more capital in private debt in the next 12 months, and only 8% of these investors reported an intention to invest less. There is certainly room for family offices to include more private debt investment in their allocations. Allocations currently sit at around 4% for family offices in the US, and 3% for European and Latin American family offices.
